Collection: Use a clean urine container to collect a random urine sample and transfer to a yellow-top urine specimen tube using the vacutainer system. The sample should be collected without preservatives.
Storage Instruction: Cleveland HeartLab recommends that samples be stored at 4°C and shipped the same day as draw. The sample is stable for up to 7 days at 4°C.
Causes of Rejection: Samples will be rejected if the yellow-top urine specimen tube is cracked/leaking, or improperly labeled.
