- Collect and label sample according to standard protocols.
- Gently invert tube 5 times immediately after draw. DO NOT SHAKE.
- Allow blood to clot 30 minutes.
- Centrifuge for 10 minutes.
Special Instructions: Samples should not be taken from patients receiving therapy with high biotin doses (>5 mg/day) until at least 8 hours following the last dose.

Intended Use: Doctors may order a luteinizing hormone test for individuals undergoing evaluation for infertility and women with irregular menstrual cycles. It is also used for the diagnosis of pituitary disorders, as well as disorders of the ovaries and testes.
Limitations: The female reference ranges are dependent upon age and menstrual cycle. In rare cases, interference due to extremely high titers of antibodies to analyte-specific antibodies, streptavidin or ruthenium can occur.
