- Collect and label sample according to standard protocols.
- Gently invert tube 8-10 times immediately after draw.
Note: ABO Group and Rh Type samples require 1) date/time of collection 2) two identifiers and 3) phlebotomist signature on the submitted tube or the sample will be rejected.
Note: If submitted with a CBC, HbA1c or any other test requiring an EDTA (Lavender-Top) tube, please submit a separate tube for this test.
Transport: Store EDTA whole blood at 2°C to 8°C after collection and ship the same day per packaging instructions included with the provided shipping box.
Ambient (15-25°C): 72 hours

Frozen (-20°C): Unacceptable
Causes for Rejection: Improper labeling; samples not stored properly; samples older than stability limits; gross hemolysis; serum separator tube (SST)
