- Collect and label sample according to standard protocols.
- Gently invert tube 5 times immediately after draw. Do not shake.
- Allow blood to clot 30 minutes.
- Centrifuge for 10 minutes.
Collection Instructions: Collect AM specimen between 6-10 AM. Indicate collection time on the specimen container and requisition form. Sample should not be taken from patients receiving therapy with high biotin doses (>5 mg/day) until at least 8 hours following the last dose.
Note: This assay is not recommended when patient is receiving prednisone/prednisolone therapy due to cross reactivity with the antibody used in this assay.
Transport: Store serum at 2°C to 8°C after collection and ship the same day per packaging instructions included with the provided shipping box.
