Specimen: Serum from Red Top tube only

Collection:
- Collect and label sample according to standard protocols.
- Gently invert tube 10 times immediately after draw. DO NOT SHAKE.
- Allow blood to clot 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Centrifuge for 10 minutes.
- Aliquot serum into transport tube labeled as “Red Top Serum” and cap tightly. Discard original tube.
Special Instructions: Refrigerate serum immediately and ship samples the same day as draw date. If not shipping the same date as draw date, freeze serum immediately and ship with dry ice.
Transport: Store serum at 2°C to 8°C after collection and ship refrigerated the same day per packaging instructions included with the provided shipping box. If not shipping the same day, store serum frozen at -20°C and ship with dry ice.
